Blog #5: IN ALBANIA!

While waiting in the London airport, the team and I met a young Albanian couple who just finished Bible college in Scotland. They flew on our flight to Albania and plan to start a Christian church in Albania. It was encouraging to talk with them and find out that Albanians are a lot like Americans in some ways. The young gal said, “Don’t try the lamb…it smells weird.” She suggested to stick to chicken and to try their special kabobs with Albanian sauce! Her husband said, “Don’t be surprised if Albanians invite you in and greet you with special alcoholic drinks….so just sip slowly because they are very strong.” We were appreciative of their tips! We also met a group of Scottish missionaries flying to Albania. Cisco and Jennifer drew their attention while practicing “tecktonik” dancing in the middle of the airport. The Scottish missionary wanted to learn the dance and sure enough during conversation we found out he and his group are coming to Albania to share the gospel as well. Pretty awesome!!! Very encouraging!

We arrived in Tirana, Albania at 10:00 PM….so around 4:00 PM your time. Praise God- we have our luggage and everyone made it through customs without any problems! Tim and Jamie were there to great us with hugs and hellos. We should be pulling into the OM center any moment now in Lushnje, Albania. We are thankful to be on ground and ready for a good night sleep.

Dave, we miss you….can’t wait till you’re here. But to make you feel better….our flight was extra long b/c it was delayed, so we are praying yours goes smoother and faster!! J

Mom, Dad, Carrie, Sean---wish you were here with me! I miss you very much.

And to all the moms, dads, brothers, sisters, friends, family, pets….and whoever else is reading this blog….please pray for our safety and that we stay healthy while over here. Satan will do anything to keep us from sharing the “good news” because he is angry over what we are about to do. Also keep praying for the hearts of those we will contact while over here. Pray that we show Albania sacrificial love, not superficial love. Pray that we put ourselves aside and put the Lord in front of everything we do while we are over here. That our attitudes would be positive, our minds filled with only thoughts from the Lord, and that our hearts too would be open to anything and everything that God wants us to learn.

London Gatwick airport

We are in London Gatwick airport….eating! I know you find that real interesting…haha. Anyways, so far so good. Praise God we made it here with no real mishaps…a true accomplishment with 10 sometimes crazy Americans… J That’s all I’ve got for now. We’ll be seeing Tim and Jamie in Tirana in ohhh…just mere hours. Very excited to meet the different culture and people there!

Arrived in London

Soooo we are in London now! It is a quite amazing we are on the coach bus to Gatwick, the bus is no greyhound! Whoa there is a video screen in the head of the bus that shows the road! Now. . . . that is cool! The cars here are all small. So far one pickup truck passed us. The interesting part is being on the left side of the road, it’s actually really amazing. The plane ride was really cool, everyone had their own television and choice of movies and music, I drank TEA! The airport was actually really large we took a bullet train to the baggage claim!

Hey, Steve here again! We’ll get some other people writing their experiences once we get to Albania…so if you are sick of me and Cisco, well, just wait… J We are just sitting here on the bus, thankful that we made it on time. I thought we would miss our bus connection to the next airport (Gatwick), but praise the Lord we made it. Although, the bus driver wasn’t happy with us for coming with ten people + bags at the last second. I apologized profusely and was inwardly praising God that we made it. This morning Pastor David preached on Jonah; how we should be pray for mercy and blessing on our enemies. Lord bless and show your grace to the bus driver…have mercy on him. Talk to everyone again from Albania!

Blog number 2!!!!!

Hey this issss the second entry in the blog of Destiny! muahahahah! Well we are in Miami now, and it is 6:47 pm, the bus ride was awesome!! The Gas station Guy’s name was “That Guy” which is soo cool. So since I am the IT Guy I had to like take everything out of the bag (for airport security) which was like, “really?” But anywho, everyone here is awesome, like always! I know and we know we are going to grow, really grow spiritually. Just seeing God’s work in the lives of Albania! It’s like whoa, I wish ya’ll be here and see what we see! I took pictures so that is cool and video too! Everyone is eating! We are breaking bread! Lol sweet! Well that’s it for now, now I go dance in the middle of airport!

Hey everyone! Thank you for checking this blog and praying for us. So far so good, we are about to get on the plane for London. Please be praying for our transfer there, for a smooth and mistake free process! We can’t wait to get to Albania and settle in to our next two weeks of serving there…Lord bless and keep you guys

Hey guys!!
We are heading to the airport now or we might be at the airport or on the plane, when this is posted *looks around* Hey I am Cisco I will be the camera and the computer guy (IT person) majority of the time. So right now we will be packing up organizing stuff and we get our minds and hearts ready! This team is Unique, many different backgrounds just with the 11 of us! Different backgrounds, it’s like amazing! The hardest part of our departure is leaving our friends and family. A lot of us were crying. My mom even made me cry because she was crying! Well the best part of this trip is to GLORIFY GOD! By the Grace of God, we will be shining with the LOVE of God. Oh we thank everyone that will be reading our blog! It will feel like you guys are with us!! *says “hi to Jenni”* Okay the Game plan so far right now is making sure we have everything and organized. The by 3:30 pm going to Miami! Once we are there we will go through check in and ride on BRITISH AIRLINES!! So everyone most likely will be British! I know cool huh? I will and most like everyone will try to speak English the entire time! I want some tea and crumpets, let me practice “ello luv?” sweet how was that? Well I will update later thanks for reading!
